ABOUT

 Athletics is an ever changing environment. The transition from youth sports through high school to college or completion can be complex and overwhelming for families.

 A&A Athletics was established to assist parents and student athletes with the navigation of the athletic process,  in addition to providing  programmatic support services to schools,  youth serving organizations as it relates to risk management and operations.

Alva has over 20 years or program development and management, staff development, safety and risk management, event management, workshop facilitation and youth engagement.  Before establishing A&A Athletic Consulting in 2015, she served as a public school health educator, athletic administrator, programs manager and director for out of school time programs in the faith based community and an EMT for the volunteer fire department.  Currently serves as a Potomac Valley  AAU District  Sports Director and manages DCPG Sports a community based sports program.

She holds the following credentials:

  • BS Degree in Health and Physical Education

  • M.Ed in Organizational Leadership

  • Certified Athletic Administrator- NIAAA

  • Certificate of Professional Development from Clayton State University Emerging Administrators Academy

  • Certificate of Professional Development - Sports Risk Management - NCS4

  • American Heart Association CPR/AED First Aid Instructor

  • Red Cross BLS Instructor

  • Community Active Shooter Instructor- National Safety Council

  • Stop the Bleed Instructor

  • Restorative Practices Facilitator 

  • Baseline/Post Concussion Testing Administrator

The Team 

The team is comprised of dynamic teachers, medical personnel, and coaches who understand and have substantial knowledge and strategies to educate and empower families through the student athlete experience.
